Stalker
If you know Eli Cross, you may expect more from Stalker than you get. It is grim, true, and moody, but it is not the sort of labyrinthine epic that you might be gearing up for if you’ve seen Upload or Corruption. The dialogue and plotting is severely curtailed in comparison to a lot of his other work — in particular the work that has been winning awards. Still, the sex is especially gritty and intense, so even if you’re going to be disappointed in your search for a great movie, you will still have found some great porn.
I’m particularly glad to see Regan Reese in the movie, and in a much larger role than I expected. I confess to being attracted to her on a purely physical basis — I dig punky, slutty-looking girls with tattoos and goofy hair, and Regan fits the bill, with her sensual face, her just-this-side-of-bad fake tits, and her prolific ink. She’s not the best actress in the world, but she doesn’t have too much dramatic weight to carry in Stalker; most, if not all, of the skeletal story is conveyed by a half-dozen brief voiceovers.
The gist of the movie is summed up neatly in the back cover copy — “What happens when two women meet on an adult film set when one is a superstar and the other an unknown? Well, each wants what the other doesn’t have.” On the face of it, that doesn’t make a lick of sense, but to go deeper would be to miss the point, which is that “Stalker” can’t be analyzed because it isn’t that deep either. It is, however, a loosely associated collection of hot sex scenes.
As mentioned, Regan Reese is a particular treat; she shows up in two of the five sex scenes, both group acts that allow her to really show off her dirty dirtiness. The first is a well-lit mini-orgy that also features Adrianna Nicole, Kylie Ireland, and Evan Stone, and the second is a darker, seedier scene with Cassidey and Derrick Pierce. You may not feel the same way about Regan that I do, but if you don’t, there’s plenty of less “alt” eye candy in the movie — Kylie Ireland, for one, who just gets hotter with age, and Cassidey, who isn’t really my style of girl but is very Vivid. Adrianna Nicole is about halfway between Regan and Cassidey in terms of her tattooedness. Adrianna’s tits are as gloriously natural as Kylie’s and Regan’s are not, too, so that angle is covered too.
Their orgy scene is glorious — Eli seems to get the best out of Kylie, and I think there are some things going on just barely offscreen that make the scene even hotter. The rest of the scenes are good too — Cassidey’s first with Alex Gonz is pretty standard Vivid fare, at least sexually speaking, and James Deen’s turn with Kayden Kross is a barn-burner. Cassidey gets the most screen time, as befits her contract star status, with three scenes — the BG and threesome being rounded out by a nice intense girl-girl with Jezebelle Bond. Cassidey gets top billing, but it’s Regan Reese that steals the show for me. You can decide for yourself, though
